Format of the test

- You must complete the test within the specified four-hour timeframe
- Access to your test results, in the form of a Performance Profile (available to download)
The online Practice Test is a four-hour test, consisting of 160 multiple-choice questions matching the Blueprint for the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination (CPNRE).
Scoring
Your total score on the online Practice Test is calculated as the number of questions on the test that you answered correctly. In addition, your performance is also presented by competency categories, cognitive levels and client age categories. Your performance on each level is calculated as the number of questions in that level that you answered correctly.
Results
After you complete the online Practice Test, you will be able to review your Performance Profile to identify areas of performance strength and weakness. The Performance Profile provides the following:
- Your score on the online Practice Test
- The answer key and a copy of your scored responses
- Your score in each of the competency categories, cognitive levels and client age categories tested by the CPNRE. This allows you to determine the areas in which you need to focus your studying.
Technical requirements
The online Practice Test is delivered using the same test delivery system as the computer-based CPNRE. You will require these technical requirements in order to take the test.
